Hello! I’m Robb Rose, Program Director and host of the Afternoon show here on Country Legends 106.9. I’ve been all over the country on the air and managing stations over the past 23 years, and am thrilled to be here in N.E. Kansas at such a great station, playing the music I grew-up listening to—thanks Dad for turning me on to such great music! I know he’s looking down from above and is just thrilled that I’m finally playing REAL COUNTRY MUSIC on the radio…
As far as family goes—been married to my wife Jean since September of 2010. I have 2 great kids, Jena and Ricky that I gained with Jean, along with my daughter Sommer—who’s 14 going on 22—from a previous marriage as well (the Brady Bunch theme song is running thru my head right now—somebody turn up the radio!). We have 3 dogs: 2 Golden Retrievers (Juliet and Isabelle), and a Pomeranian (Trixie)—and the Pomeranian is the boss in the house.
I’m a sports nut—GO WHITE SOX and BEARS!!! Got to see the White Sox play the Royals in KC this past summer… What a beautiful stadium Kauffman is! And since becoming a transplanted Kansan--I've grown to like the KC Chiefs as well--so I guess I'll give-up the Raiders as my AFC Team and root for the home team!
In my spare time—I’ve become quite the fan of Food Network and my wife and I can’t miss an episode of “Chopped”. I’ve decided learning all about cooking is my next adventure—hopefully all the practice will be edible… I was also taking nursing classes prior to coming to Kansas—so if anyone on staff collapses like Randy Travis did on stage a while back, we’re covered. I’m not licensed yet—and will most likely start classes to be licensed in Spring of 2013. I’m not one to start something and not finish.
Hopefully I’ll get the chance to meet you at one of the many events here in N.E. Kansas—whether it’s at a live broadcast or concert, or a parade—wherever. In the mean time, feel free to drop an email and say hello, or call-in in the afternoon and introduce yourself… And thank you for letting me be a part of your day-without you, we’d have no reason to be here!
