We also teamed up with our news partners WIBW-TV to put on an exclusive "VIP Party" that was catered by Puffy's Steak and Icehouse. We also gave away a "Coal Miner's Daughter" gold and diamond necklace from Akers and Akers diamond galleria. |

- We loaded up the Country Legends van, and headed west for the annual "Native Stone" festival in Alma, KS. While we were there, we were able to get our hands on some of the locally famous "Mulligan Stew." |

- The name isn't new, but the location is! Country Legends 106.9 was on hand Tuesday, May 1, for the opening of local candle store Marion Lane Candles new store. Owners Connie Cook, and her husband H.R. Cook, spook at the event and help cut the ceremonial "red-ribbon." |

- This year the annual "Governor's Easter Egg Hunt" was a little soggy due to the inches of rain that had fallen the previous days, but the wet conditions didn't detour any of the thousands of kids on hand to look for there favorite candy treasures. |

Valentine's Day Fly-Away 2007
- This year's fly-away sent listeners to Music City USA to see Country Legend George Jones perform at the legendary Ryman Auditorium. The two lucky listeners had the chance of a lifetime, they watched the entire show from the stage of the Ryman. Little did we know that another Legend, Tanya Tucker, would take the stage to finish out the show. |

- Country Legend and Kansas Native Kenny Starr, singer of "Blind Man in the Bleachers" stopped by the KTPK studios on October 27th to present the station with a commerative record of the song. Kenny was born in Topeka, has family in Osage City and Lawrence, and currently lives in Nashville, TN. "Blind Man in the Bleachers" hit #1 on the Billboard Charts in 1975. |
